Yeah, defiantly. But I think Justin is the biggest fan, or used to be to my knowledge, so his advice would be good. But as someone who never listened to them previously, I went out and bought that album a year ago and it was a great starter for me. Its a good album undoubtedly.
Andrew is such an underrated songwriter/vocalist as well. Shame that all the bands they tour/record with become bigger than them (death cab/broken social scene). I love how on the postman they sound so damn similar as well.

i recognized him in the chorus but thought that was andrew in the intro. The styrofoam remix is awesome as well you can find heaps of remixs from that record on playlist it's like a crappy version of last fm.

Know By Heart is probably their best all around. I think Promise of Love is underrated, though. And the Golden Band is a gem as well.
I went through a 12 month period of my life, in which I listened to the AmAnSet exclusively--literally no one else....I like to think that I'm a better person because of that period.

I got the Wooden Birds album last week, and I really like it personally.

No, I've been broke, so I hadn't been getting any new music whatsoever for a while, but I just got a job, so now it's all good, yadadamean?
JD? That's new. Can I have a few guesses as to what the D stands for? Justin Danger? Justin's Dick?

Hmm, Golden Band is the only album I haven't listened to... I'll check it out.
I'm going to give another vote to Know by Heart.
Oh, and I read in an interview a long time ago (I'll try to find it) that there was a version of the Postman recorded where Ben G. sings lead and Andy K. does backup vocals. I searched heavily, but I seriously doubt it has ever made its way to the internet.
For me Amanset has always been a rather obsessive listen and by that I mean that if I'm generally in the mood to listen to them I'm in the mood to listen to a LOT of them. They're one of the only bands that I can quite happily devote the better part of my day listening to their entire discography. I agree with JD, golden band and promise of love are both hugely underrated.
In public, if anyone ever brings up amanset I usually just burst out singing "she married an asian man", I don't know why, she's half just seems to be my go-to 'sing amanset loudly in public' song. I know JD would have one as well. What is it bitch?

Do you mind if I do that at the mention of AmAnSet from now on? I always yelled "Well maybe you're too drunk, so you can't tell", but I'd like to try something new.
