Okay, so I normally wouldn't post this, but Chris did some producing of the new Nada Surf, so I thought I would post about it.
As is noted by the latest Death Cab album, Chris is becoming a more smooth and streamlined producer. Everything he's doing is becoming cleaner and more perfected. This can be both a good and bad thing...
The new Nada Surf sounds as though they took the good elements from the Proximity effect and combined them with the good elements of Let Go (which, in my opinion, has very FEW bad elements). They took these, and then perfected them, and then you have the new Nada Surf album.
There's been discussion after discussion about the new Death Cab album, so I won't go into that...
But what do you guys think of all these new albums coming out with more streamlined productions?
I have always been a fan of more "raw" sounding albums, So obviously I would say that Let Go just sounded better to me, and the Photo Album and Trans sounded better - There was more of a raw element in the way it sounded. That's just my 2 cents, what do you guys think?

Cant wait to hear it... up until a morh ago or so...Nada Surf was "popular" to me...and then i stumbled over let Go and its freekin brilliant. My nr one of 2005 so far (I know its an older record). But to the topic I can say that I do prefer the streamlined productions, although I object to the the term stremlined, i dont like fuzz in my ears, i like clean clean clean sounds sweet as honey.

i think i might be the only one here that doesnt reallyl ike Nada Surf. they are bland and sound really average. they're not bad. just not especially good. atleast to me
