So with the release of Tegan and Sara's Sainthood, there are no albums set to come out in 2009 that I'm looking forward to. Even though my three favorite bands aren't intertesting me that much at the moment (DCFC's rocking out Hot Topic, Bloc Party's on hiatus, and Boards of Canada don't seem to want to leave their bunker in England), some of my other favorite bands are coming out with records in 2010:

Frightened Rabbit / The Winter of Mixed Drinks

MGMT / Congratulations

Does It Offend You, Yeah? / Don't Say We Didn't Warn You

Plus: Interpol, LCD Soundsystem, Foals, Stars, Aphex Twin, Royksopp, Milosh, Four Tet, Menomena, Sigur Ros and Friendly Fires are all likely to release records as well.

So what albums are you looking forward to in 2010?

And I have learned that even landlocked lovers yearn for the sea like navy men.

Definitely Frightened Rabbit, Foals, Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin (gonna be produced by Chris Walla), Stars, of Montreal and radiohead.

Also, The shins last album was 2007, so they should be working on something for '10. Same with Modest Mouse and Rogue Wave.

Meeeeeeeeeeeeee Smiler Hopefully.

Anyway. Broken Bells seems alright. I'm so behind on new music; I got the Open Door EP like two days ago. At this rate, I'll have 2010's new music by 2012.

I'll cast my line into your lake. Hook, line, sinker.

I know, I haven't even listened to it either. The other day I heard what I assume is a song from it on the radio but I had no idea what it was. I'm a bad fan.

I want a new Shins, too. I miss Marty. He was awesome. And Jesse. Cool guys. WTF

I think there's a distinct chance that hardcore Shins fans will perhaps be slightly dissapointed with the next Shins release as it just seems like Mercer has moved a lot musically since then and then of course there's the radical lineup change. However the Broken Bells project sounds fucking awesome to my ears, there's no doubt that Mercer has an unreal way with melody and combine that with someone as insane as Danger Mouse and it should be really interesting.

It sorta sounds like Broken Bells is going to be Mercer's Postal Service

When Sigur Ros release a new record, I'll die of happiness. Same goes for Stars.

Also looking forward to DIOYY's new release.
Frightened Rabbit, too.

Oh, and I almost forgot!
The new Los Campesinos! album.

I would say so and it'd affect the live show also as wasn't the keyboardist the one with all smiles and jumping all over the place plus to Take out Jesse and bring in a drummer from the kings of gloom ( modest mouse) is a sure sign things are not looking good for the shins.
