Has anyone had the opportunity to see Children of Men? I was quite taken with the preivew one night when I went to see a different movie, and it really lived up to my expectations, and beyond. The movie is SO good. Great acting, a facinating storyline, it's absolutely full of action and is one of those movies that leave you kind of mystified. It's really worth seeing.
Check out how good the sets are, too. Whoever they got to build them I'd like to know the name of, because he or she is great at what they do.

On a lesser note we saw "Curse of the Golden Flower", which was supposed to be really good but turned out to be crap, in my opinion. The story was boring, the end not conclusive enough-it just sort of left you hanging. But who cared? Because it wasn't all that interesting to begin with.
I went into it thinking it was a martial arts movie, but it's not. It's just about a Chinese Dynasty walking around their palace plotting to kill eachother. Those that got in fights could fight very well, but why??

At the risk of being unpopular, Deer Hunter is one of THE greatest films of all time and LMS was just plain OK. Watch The Deer Hunter again, its fantastic

I thought Children of Men was great!
I'm watching Rear Window now. I tried to watch The Lakehouse but turned it off after 10 mins.
