Right now I'm reading Blodletting and Miraculous Cures by Vincent Lam. He won the giller prize this year. It's a collection of short stories. That's what I'm reading for fun.

Old Possums Tales For Fairly Odd Cats by T.S. Elliott, it's the book of poetry which inspired the musical Cats.

For school I'm reading
Dubliners by James Joyce (very good, even if it is just for class, it's a collection of short stories about Dublin)
Paridise Lost (I can't remember who wrote this, but it's hard to get though because I don't have a religious background.)
King Lear (most hated shakespear by myself at least)

Thank you.

J.D. Salinger is awesome.
It's annoying how they aren't allowed to teach him in high school anymore.

they are allowed to in my high school. what is really a shame is that he has so many novels and short stories that he has written, however, he is a recluse and he refuses to have them published. his daughter wrote a biography on him though and said that he has it arranged so that when he dies all his work will be published...he is currently in his mid eighties. he literally is a recluse though, no one knows where exactly he lives (although it is rumored that he is living in some cabin or small house in the woods). i will be happy and sad when he dies (as horrible as that sounds).

Here he isn't allowed to be taught in the schools and that makes me very sad. He is one of the best writers of our times. Honestly I would have prefered to study him than read Never Cry Wolf.

Did you have to read Eugine O'Neill in high school? You should check him out, I just finished Long Days Journey Into Night, it's a play that's a biography about his life, and his mother who was a morphine addict, and his father who was an actor, it's so good.

So is Dubliners by James Joyce, I had to read that this year as well, it's so good.

The stuff that I'm reading now compaired to what we were forced to read in high school is not even compairable. The only books I liked in high school were To Kill A Mocking Bird (even though its a tad overated), all the Shakespears, and A Heart of Darkness.

Speaking of a heart of darkness, read it as well. It's such a good book.

If it turns out that there is a God, I don't think that he's evil. But the worst that you can say about him is that basically he's an underachiever.

No clue but it's on the 'banned book' list for whatever reason.

Same with lolita...but of course that promotes underage sex, none the less great book though.

It's probably one of those things, like Ulysses by James Joyce (I'm really on a JJ kick aren't I?) where they just did it because a small group of people kicked up a huge fuss.

Both of them are great.

I got them as a set that the publisher sent around to people at my work for free. I've just finished running with sissors so I'm gonna have to start the other one soon-ish.
