i used to be wayy into this stuff when i was younger and went a litle crazy with making geocities websites...currently i am working on converting my myspace blog onto my own webpage..just havent had enough time..i'll give the link when i'm done

I bet! What people will read that shit? The "reviews" are absolute garbage. You really shouldn't call them reviews, because they aren't reviews. I really don't understand what the target audience for this website is... If people wanted to read reviews of albums they'd go to some real site with actual reviews... BS, straight up. The kind of sort of redeeming feature is the Underground thing, though I didn't take the time to download the album... Well let us know when this pile of shit improves. I honestly do believe it could improve, with a lot of work. Good luck.

I hope you realize that this started out as a school project, and when I purchase my own domain name, I will make it more serious, and to entertain a broader audience...

A little less bashing would be appreciated. Some of your comments border on being helpful, but I wouldn't call it constructive criticism.

It's true that the site (well, both of them) need a lot of work - but neither of them were made by professionals and they're not going to learn anything through cruel comments.

interpolarity - it's a start, but the design isn't very strong and the background graphic is a little cheesy. Photoshop filters usually look cheap and lower the credibility of any designer. I think the overall layout works, but it could be executed better (the background doesn't work well, the menu goes outside of the background image, the header image is weak, etc). Remember to always check for typos, too - your menu says "Jounals" instead of "Journals". You need to work on the spacing of all the elements of your page - your text blocks start too close to the left edge most of the time. The font size is also a little large. Your content text is larger than your menu text, which looks pretty weird.

Those are just a few suggestions - and don't worry, you'll get better. You should see some of my early design...it was awful. Everyone starts somewhere!

yes, that design sucks. i can't change it until jimmy sends me his interview though. the new one is much better. it makes a lot more sense. and i got a new name, because zone is just corny. ive also just realized how much those colors don't match on the current one.
interpolarity- what the hell does 'imindiezone' mean?? it really confuzes me. and you've got this weird header thing that just has the letter 'ound' at the top. and the reviews are just movie posters. did you make the title graphics? because those are pretty nifty.

I always figured ImIndieZone was sort of a play on words...like..."I'm in the zone." I dunno.

The 'ound' is a CSS problem I have not quite figured out....only IE6 shows that problem (to my knowledge)

The background has not been photoshopped at all...

I will make the header graphic bigger.... and fix the typo...

The title graphics are from a banner generator online....I thought they were nice...

You got it right della....I had an explanation for it, but someone complained about that being stupid, so I took it down...


mary- I took time to look at your site, and its pretty good, but the colors need work...its kinda hard to read...layout could use some more structure, but otherwise, keep up the good work...

and hate to bother because i do it too but no one has said anything so should'nt you really change ImIndieZone to I'mIndieZone
just a suggestion unless you like it that way.

I did think about that, but then if you look at the word, other derivations can be coined...
