My major is photography and I'm sure there are people on here who enjoy taking pictures so post them here.

This is Gull Lake in Minnesota. It was taken after a huge thunderstorm.

This is the view from my aunt's back porch. Same lake.

nice ones Lindsey. I like the first one and the golf ball. In the first one you posted, do I see a rainbow? It dissapears if I look too closely or at it for long so I can't figure out if it's there or not.

no offense lindsey but those aren't very good.
cheesy landscapes and a macro shot won't cut it as a photo major. i like your pictures powerlines, interesting compositions; i like the negative space in the clouds.

on a side but related note, i hate how photography is becoming ridiculously popular. digital photography is so easy and convienient that any 5 year old can take 'amazing' looking pictures. For me photo's should have more meaning behind them rather than simply being aesthetically pleasing. Also, I would recommend everyone to take up analog before digital; its extremely satisfying and, unfortunately, a dying art.

Yes there is a rainbow.

Here is a better picture. Same day, same storm.

PS. I like the "red-hots" heart.

Totally.

I have a digital camera, because it's my fathers. But, if I had the money to get a decent camera of my own, I'd get a film camera instead. I also agree about the whole "should have something more behind them" - I take photos of nice scenes or macros of flowers, but they always piss me off.

Here's one you might like,

Well, unfortunately my digital camera broke about half through my stay in Minnesota, so I didn't get pictures of everything I wanted. I realize these won't cut it as a photography major. But I don't just take landscape pictures. I thought those would turn out well, whether they will "cut it" or not was totally a different story.

In my defense, I just recently got into photography not because of it's populary but because I actually got a good camera. So, I am by no means claiming to be a professional. And I should correct myself, I'm not a photography major yet, but that is my plan.

I also plan on buying a Canon SLR (film camera) but money is tight right now so that is on the back burner.

Anyways, more.
