Death Cab for Cutie have a previously unreleased (at least to my knowledge) track on a January 30, 2007-released compilation titled "Endless Highway: The Music of the Band."

The song is titled "Rocking Chair" and you can listen to it by going to the following link and clicking on "Music."

The Band is so fuckin' sweet. I love that song so much! If you guys dunno what album it's from-- it's from The Band's self titled album, and it's a must have. Everything is recorded so well on that album.

EDIT: Who's all singing? I swear I think I hear Nick singing some of the low stuff... it's mixed mostly onto the L channel.

This is recorded really well... listen to 2:07-2:13/3:07-3:13 and listen to the way those vibrations are happening. I think that the vocals clip a few times though which is a bummer.

hate to say this... but you should check the boards better, i posted about this song back in October when it was news... and then Deemuncow gave us that actual song on december 14th of last year to download... you could have been listening to in for 2 months now like the rest of us... (its all in the main forum)

I sorta did the same thing Deemuncow did to get it. I don't know which transcode is higher quality. I coded it raw and then put it into MP3, so it might be a little better because it wasn't ripped straight into MP3 (deteriorating in the CACHE). Plus mine is 193 kbit/s... hmm which one to keep in my itunes library.

it's nice to hear anything new recorded by the boys. it's been so long sadly since they've recorded a studio track it seems. so ready for a new album.

I actually like it alot. I put it up on my iPod and then i listened to it when i was on the freeway and it just sounded really cool to drive with.
