hah yeah. I think I just like the same kind of guitar stuff bands I like use. But for instance, I really don't like Ben's new G&L or Nick's new bass. I do like that sunburst one he used on the last tour though.

My friend is hoping to get a MicroKorg for Christmas, I'll be jealous if he does haha.

What bass is nick using these days? In the promo IWPYH vid it showed an array of basses including a Fender Jaguar Bass and a harmony or two.

Speaking of Microkorgs, I got an MS2000B! It7s pretty neat-o.

Anyways, wasn't it "Pile of Wood" who was telling me synths/keyboards were a waste of money?? I apologize if I'm mistaken.

Ok... sorry that I mistook you for a cumbubble bitch!

Either way, are you gonna put that vocoder to work if you get a microkorg or what?

yeah totally. that shit sounds so rad. and if i ever play it live people will think i'm some kind of supreme celestial being. which i am, you know, but it's good for other people to witness my powers. hahahaheheheh. i still think i might go with the Mbox for now though, after all I'm in school for Sound Arts and it would be nice to be able to do my work at home from time to time.

Oh, that's way cool, my good friend christopher bought that about three years ago and we've been playing it live a lot. Great for dirty basslines and random effects and leads.

Steven - Nick is using another one of his custom P-bass lookalikes... you can see it here. (same with Ben's G&L I'm not a big fan of)

Oh, and I got my RV-3 today. So cool.

Ohh yea... the bass looks alright, haha. I found a body like that at the swap meet a while back, but it was a jazz look alike, and some guy had tried to make it a fretless... the thing was so beat up and sweet looking- we call it the G-bass (for ga hetto). I put some old pickups in it andsome electronics and got a copper pickguard for it ('cause it's the ugliest match possible) and a gold plate for the knobs.

About nicks bass (which is very similar in style), I guess it has those cheap black block inlays and a black bound maple neck. The thing looks ok, i spose...

I was a HUGE fan of the jaguar bass for a while, but I think that's cooled off and I'm just indifferent about basses now... just about anything will do.

I was thinking of getting some kind of reverb unit... I probably won't get something like the RV3, though pedals are convenient. I'm thinking of a Peavey Valverb or Boss RX100.

So Brian, now that you have had your bass remodeled for a while now, what do you think about it? Did you ever change the pickups/electronics?

Nope, haven't done that yet.

But it's definitely easier to play and changing the neck was something I wanted to do since day one, so it's really nice to finally see it finished.

That's an Amp/Bass Head that I got from someone recently. My 166A DBX compressor is also sitting atop the head.

I know I already sound like a Jonny Greenwood fanboy, but I want an envelope filter really bad. Too bad I've spent all my cash on concert tickets... found a nice one for $150. Frowner

Brian, get yer own tone, bro.

Jonny Greenwood probably can't even sound like Jonny Greenwood.

(this is me being both sarcastic and serious, buy what you want)

haha yeah I know what you mean. usually what happens is I get some of these pedals to get someone elses sound, but then I end up making up my own stuff with it. I think that's pretty much how music works though.. to a certain extent, it's basically everyone copying off of each other.
