Ok, fresh start!

Post pics of your gear (instruments, amps, pedals, whatever) here. If you've got a question about something, I'm sure someone here will be able to answer it.

Go!

A pic of the room where I record/mess around with music. I'll try to get proper images later.

I just moved and I thought i copied all of my pictures onto my external harddrive, but was compeltely wrong... besides this, I have a Jazz Bass, Epiphone Acoustic, 000 1951 Martin, Tamboura, French Horn, Congas, Tama Snare, Glockenspiel, Alto Sax, Koto, Melodica, C Harmonica, and some other random assorted percussion and cheap microphones. I have no clue how to play the Sax or the Horn... I got kind of far on the horn and barely tapped into the sax before my neice was born and I had to put the kaibosh on loud instruments.

As of right now, I have my Jazz Bass, Aerodyne Strat (still taken apart from carrying it in my luggage), BOSS DD-6, an SM57 & SM58, and my Harmonica in C with me. I have my glockenspiel and melodica on their way as well as an old Harmony acoustic archtop.

I've got too many pics to post so I'll just post links here.

Amps:
Peavey Classic - This is the bigger amp of the two... I got it from a friend, I don't really know much about it other than it's old and simply called "Classic."
Fender Vibro Champ XD - My smaller amp, easy to carry around. Although it's small, it can get pretty loud since it's a tube amp.
Fender Rumble 60 - Bass amp... pretty standard.

Guitars:
Fender '72 Tele Thinline - This is my baby... it's probably the best guitar I've ever played (that's why I decided to buy it!). The neck is so easy to get around, and I love the sound of those humbuckers. I also just recently added in a killswitch.
Standard Fender P-Bass - It's not the best, but I like it. I kinda wish I still had my Jazz Bass cause I really liked the neck, but it's ok. I'll eventually get a nicer bass. Also, I switched out the white pickguard for a black one.
Standard Fender Stratocaster - This was my first guitar... so it's a bit cheap. I don't play it very often since it needs a new set of strings really bad and I just haven't gotten around to doing it.
Takamine G-Series - This is actually my brother's guitar, but I tend to play it more than him haha. I would've gotten a different acoustic, because this one feels huge and is incredibly hard to play.

Keyboards:
M-Audio Axiom 25 MIDI controller - This thing is pretty sweet... it's nice to be able to assign stuff to the knobs and drum pads. It's a little restricting lately, but it's super durable and high quality.
Yamaha PSR-293 - This was my first keyboard, so there isn't much to it (or at least stuff that I use other than the piano setting). 400+ weird voices that I don't use...

Pedals: (going down the line...)
Boss TU-2 Chromatic Tuner - Best tuner you can get.
Boss DD-6 Digital Delay - I probably use this pedal the most. There are tons of different things you can do with it. Warp mode is cool for building things up and making a lot of noise, hold is basically a mini-looper. Get one if you don't already have one.
Boss DS-1 Distortion - Pretty much just use this for crazy fuzz sounds nowadays.
Fulltone Full-Drive 2 Mosfet - Lovely.
Behringer DD400 Digital Delay - No matter how much you rag on it, I'll still use it. It was my first delay pedal, and nowadays it's just used for it's hold function (i mostly use it as kind of a Max/MSP stand-in) and to get crazy feedback.
Ashdown Bass Drive - Not much to say about this fella.

A lot of people take a jazz neck and put it on their P-basses... that's probably on of the most common things. Maybe you could just pick up a nice neck off of ebay or warmouth or something and swap it. If it's a mexican you should get some new pickups, too. Provided the body is ok, it's definately a cheaper way to go than to buy an all new bass. If it is mexican, I would redo the wiring, too... maybe switch out the pots, even. I don't know how you feel about flatwounds, but I personally think they soudn way better than rounds. If you do that stuff or any combination thereof, you might be able to salvage this bass.

Yeah, true. I've looked into getting a Warmouth neck, but I don't know about spending $300 on a neck alone when it could go towards an American bass. But I probably will eventually do that and the pick-ups. I'm more into guitar oriented stuff right now, but once I get back into bass I'll get on it. Thanks for the suggestions.

Unless you're gonna get lucky on a (nice) used america fender (which you won't get that lucky), you're gonna be spending about $1,000-$1,400... so $300 for a neck, a hundred or so for some pickups, a hundred for new wires/pots, and $50 for some new strings will be a bit cheaper.

Yeah definitely. Do you have any idea what the measurements are if I would want to put a Jazz bass neck on there? I remember looking at Warmouth's site, and having no clue since there were a bunch of different sizes.

Also, would installing it be something I could do myself? Or should I take it to a shop?

Were you playing "This Modern Love" in that acoustic photo?

I am sick of feeling sick and not throwing up. It's in my stomach and you seem to be stuck. And it won't work its way through my gut. Just go away.

Ordered my new bass neck today! It's going to be an all maple Jazz Bass neck with a vintage tint... I've always like J-Bass necks but wasn't a big fan of the body, so this will be nice. Almost like the P-Bass Deluxe (my brother just got one) but without the active J-Bass pickups.

Steven, could you recommend some new pickups for a P-Bass? Seems like there are a lot out there and I have no idea what to get.
