I just realized today, that for my favorite song, I don't have any live bootlegs of Title Track. I decided to send you guys on a quest to get the best sound quality, live version of Title Track. Go!

i have one in kinda medium quality from a halloween show in 2003, one from what i think is an australian radio spot that is pretty good and one from a coffeehouse solo-show ben did in 2001.

The various versions I have:
* Ben Gibbard solo, January 19th, 2001, 5th Floor Coffeehouse, Bellingham, WA * Ben Gibbard solo, January 10th, 2006, Bowery Ballroom, New York, NY * Death Cab, studio version, We Have the Facts and We're Voting Yes, 2000 * Death Cab, April 14th, 2000, Crocodile Cafe, Seattle, WA * Death Cab, November 10th, 2001, Emo's, Austin, TX * Death Cab, October 16th, 2003, The Opera House, Toronto, Canada * Death Cab, 2003, Triple J Sessions Of the two solo versions, I'd probably take the 2001 version, because there's less crowd noise and I like the nuance of interpretation a bit better -- the 2006 version is probably better recording quality, though. I don't know what the hell the Triple J Sessions are, or where they are from; but it's a pretty unique version, sounds like it was a radio broadcast. The second guitar swells are really prominent on that version. Of the three bootlegs, the Croccodile Cafe version is easily best quality. The Emo's version is pretty thin and distant sounding, and the Opera House one is okay, quality-wise. Then, the Opera House show is probably my favorite bootleg of theirs to listen to. I think I got the bulk of my concert bootlegs from Archive.org... A sophism of madness... |

Can you up the Australian radio one Kasper. I love this song to. I wish the world was flat like the old days. |

Yes, it's from Triple J apparently, somewhere in 2003 - i reckon somewhere before Transatlanticism was released:
http://www.megaupload.com/dk/?d=KDNKVWXE (this broadcast also included A Movie Script Ending, I Was A Kaleidoscope, The New Year, Why You'd Want to Live Here, Prove My Hypothesis and Blacking Out the Friction). Sound quality is actually much better than i remembered it. For Photo Album fans this set is a real treat. Oh and Groovitude is right, Chris' guitar is really prominent for the most of the session. Could you upload the whole Triple J session Kasper or Groovitude? I think I lost that when I switched computers.

Sure thing. If Kasper's got it better than 128kbps, 44 Hz, I wouldn't mind a reup from him, though. Death Cab for Cutie, Triple J Sessions, 2003 1. A Movie Script Ending 2. I Was a Kaleidoscope 3. The New Year 4. Title Track 5. Why You'd Want to Live Here 6. Prove My Hypotheses 7. Blacking Out the Friction / Hysteria http://www.megaupload.com/?d=F3MPN8P3 A sophism of madness... |

Triple J is Australia's 'alternative' radio session. They have quite a history. Read more here:
