In the middle of the pause in "Why You'd want to live here" I yelled out Nathanael West, and Ben said that I had won the contest for literary references. Good times.

Haha, I had been trying to remember what was shouted about literature at that show.

let me think...
11/27/06
probably the greatest night of my life.
the minute i heard ...giants... it was like a culmination of being for me =]=]
the other amazing bit was movie script ending. simply perfection.

the thing that made it memorable for me was ... at the pageant, there are 2 bar areas for each floor.
during the encore, when ben plays ...dark =\ a severely drunk woman tried to pull off a very loud sing along ben boxes her out and kept going... BEAUTIFUL!

here i rest, where dissappointment and regret...collide.

I had to leave my great position in front of the stage because of almost fainting for standing in the same place for 8 hours waiting for the Cab. But when they played, it was another great selection of songs. Prove My Hypothesis was great at the end. No, that video of Plans is not Chris throwing the guitar off the gorge. He threw it hi up into the air and it came down behind the amps, but not off stage and not off of the gorge. And Ben threw his as well and was poking a hole in his amp with it. Great rockstar moments.

Really? You sure? I could have sworn it went right off the back of the stage? I'm kinda hoping it did.

I was on the right side a decent ways away from the stage and I am pretty sure it didn't. The stage is pretty big and isn't there a big wind screen at the back of the stage anyways? It would be near impossible to through a guitar off that stage from where chris was.

I've been splicing Ben's inventions.

I still like to think it went straight off. Makes a kick ass story, mind you.

Don't you ruin that for me!

Maybe it did. I could be totally retarded. He could have if he had run back to the very back, but I just don't remember that.

March 20 in Spokane was great too because I believe they played "Blacking Out the Friction" into "Girls Just Want to Have Fun." Way too much fun.

October 15 2005 - Kool Haus

My first death cab show. It was the first tour for plans. And it was actually just alright. Like, it was weird, it looked like they felt tense or something. Almost no talking to the crowed, non that i can remember. And it was just full of girls with camera phones.
I liked it of course, We Looked Like Giants blew my mind, i had never seen it live before. During the jam, Ben started doing stretches, kinda funny. Last show at small venue.

April 17 2006 - Ricoh Coliseum

Now this was waaaay better than the one i had saw before. They looked like themselves, having fun, and enjoying themselves. The opening songs were perfect, passenger seat, into different names, into new year.
And of course this is the famous show where the fire alarm went off, and would not shut off for a bit. It was a lot of fun, made it really memorable. And funny Banter.

Oct 30 2006 - Massey Hall

I took my dad to this concert, for his birthday gift. He really does like good music.
It was a solid show, amazing venue, and they were as energetic as i've seen. And they finally played stuff off facts, which i hadn't saw live before. Just a really solid show.

Oct 31 2006 - Massey Hall

Halloween. This was one of the best nights of my life. Me and my friends went as the JLA... well each had a different comic hero shirt on. It was awesome just awesome, we were i think 5th row, massey hall is a sit down theater, but nobody was sitting. Ben got so excited and fell down, than grabbed the mic and kept singing. Than Walla got into it and came running and slid , and finished on the ground with ben.
Than the encore, they came out dressed as DEVO and played 3 or maybe 4... Devo songs, than finished with Sound of Settling. It was a ton of fun.

Than after the show i waited a good 2 hours and met Nick, Chris and Ben. Didn't talk to Nick much, but Chris was just awesome, talked about a lot of stuff. And Ben was just as awesome, and told off some idiot, it was great.

Ben Gibbard - May 4 2007 - Chicago

7pm show.
I was on the Balcony for this, and he opened with "To Sing for You" which was just awesome. I'm guessing like me, he had picked up the reissue of "Don't Look Back" which had just came out, and fell in love with that song. It was perfect.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=NC-VP0uK4CU
11:30 18+ show
Just as awesome, this time i was up at the front. Steadier Footing, and Giants, Harvest Moon were perfect.

The solo shows were just a lot fun. A lot more laid back, especially the 18+ one.

Death Cab, Franz, and Cribs:

1. Meeting Alex from Franz (not Death Cab Related)
2. Chris waving to me when he walked by (i didn't know who we was then so i was just like what is up man.
3. Being at the front of the line and getting invited to a pre-show acoustic performance with 30 other people (they played 405, crooked teeth, and one other that i forgot).

May 5th, 2007 (Ben)
1. My friend yelled "I love you" and Ben was like "I Love You Too"
2. Meeting David and Johnathan.

I have been in the front row at every show I have ever been to ) including non-death cab. This has required waiting in live several several hours. My friend and I waited in line for the solo tour like six or seven hours. We were the only people there up until about two hours before showtime.

I have a recording of that solo show, you can hear your friend scream out "I love you." It's pretty funny when Ben responds haha.

And elaborate on this acoustic show... I have never heard about this.

I've seen two Death Cab shows and I attended the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame show for Ben Gibbard. All three shows were absolutely amazing. Setlists:

Sunday, August 6th, 2006
405
Your Heart is an Empty Room
The New Year
We Laugh Indoors
Title and Registration
Soul Meets Body
Photobooth
Crooked Teeth
For What Reason
Company Calls
Company Calls Epilogue
What Sarah Said
A Movie Script Ending
Expo '86
We Looked Like Giants
The Sound of Settling
---
I Will Follow You Into the Dark
Tiny Vessels
Transatlanticism

First show. I was absolutely stunned by FWR -> CC -> CCE. Before they played them, Ben said "This will be edutainment for some of you." "Epilogue" is my favorite song (not just Death Cab), so hearing it at my first show was amazing, ESPECIALLY right after "Company Calls." "We Looked Like Giants" was also great with Ben playing the drums. I also LOVED the "Tiny Vessels" -> "Transatlanticism" transition.

Monday, August 7th, 2006
Passenger Seat
Different Names for the Same Thing
The New Year
Why You'd Want to Live Here
Title and Registration
President of What?
Crooked Teeth
Summer Skin
Photobooth
Company Calls
What Sarah Said
Styrofoam Plates
Soul Meets Body
A Movie Script Ending
The Sound of Settling
Transatlanticism
---
I Will Follow You Into the Dark
Marching Bands of Manhattan
I'm Going Home
Prove My Hypothesis

If you ever get to see them back to back, please God go to both shows. The second setlist was so different than the first one. I was floored when they opened with "Passenger Seat." I never even thought of that as an opener. "President of What?" and ending with "Prove My Hypothesis" was incredible. "Styrofoam Plates" also got a huge applause and it was sweet hearing a little more of The Photo Album at this show (compared to more Facts the previous night).

Ben Gibbard Solo, Monday, September 10th, 2007
Brand New Colony
Title and Registration
You Remind Me of Home
405
Sound of Settling
---
I Will Follow You Into the Dark
Silver Lining
We Will Become Silhouettes

Absolutely amazing. Hearing the interview between each song was great. "You Remind Me of Home" was amazing. I was really pulling to hear that. "I Will Follow You into the Dark" was crazy, because you could hear a pin drop in the theater during the performance. Only 400 people were there and no one made a sound the entire song. This is the way that song was meant to be heard live.

I was also front row for all three shows and was able to meet Ben after the solo show.
