If you've seen Death Cab live, which most of us have, what was the thing that set that show apart from the rest/what made it special? I'll start.
April 8th, 2006 They were playing with Franz Ferdinand, and right after their set I went to grab a drink. I came back and some girl had gotten wasted and threw up on my seat. Some of the staff at the venue came over and gave us the option to go into the GA area, and of course we took it. Went in there, got about 5 feet from Chris. Just the luck of that made my night. August 2nd, 2006 I'm walking up to get my tickets and look to my left, there's Chris talking on his phone by the bus behind a chain-link fence. So close, yet so far away (haha). Anyways, this was a perfect setlist. Most of my favorites, and the two songs I was extremely obsessed with - Company Calls Epilogue and Photobooth. Epilogue was probably the greatest thing I have ever witnessed. The lights were particularly awesome during this. When the chorus came in, there was an almost blinding flash of white which just did something for me. I don't know what it was, but it was just great. Now... share! --------------------- Big fish eat the little ones. |

August 10, 2006 was definitely the best Death Cab show I've seen. It was near Eugene, at an outdoor venue on a beautiful day/evening. I went early and stood right in front of Chris during the show. The show was fantastic, and afterwards, I met the whole band.
Ben's solo show last May was really awesome too. In the front row again, which was even better because there was no gate blocking before the stage. Highlight of the night was Couches in Alleys. Great thread, btw, I love hearing concert stories. |

Seeing them at Sasquatch and close their set with Prove My Hypothesis. Chris got so hyped he tossed his guitar off the Gorge.

April 21st 2006
i roadtripped out to Madison Wisconson to see DCFC, and my and my girlfriend parked in this parking ramp right behind the theater, and the loading dock to the theater was right there too and we walked passed and saw Chris and Nick just chillin outside having a smoke (Nick was at least) so we talked to them for like 20 minutes! found out that Nick's mom was the principle at my old elementary school in washington (in Renton)it was funny, we roadtripped to Milluakee to see them in November 2006 too and met all 4 of them by there bus after the show, Nick remembered us! and i got all 4 of them to sign my Transatlanticism poster, then May 3rd 2007 the first show on Ben's solo tour at firt ave in minneapolis, we waited around after the show and got to meet Ben again, also had a cool conversation with Jonathan Rice (he said he thinks i was the only person there who had heard of him prior) Drive Well, Sleep Carefully |

11/12/05-The Wiltern:
This was on their last tour of "small venues"(theaters), the one just before Franz Ferdinand with Stars. It was my first concert since N*Sync when I was 5 and we stayed in Koreatown for the night afterwards. I went with my sister and mom and I just felt so hip going to a concert and all. This was the night that I knew I had fallen in love with Death Cab and that my life was probably going to change because of them. This is when I realized there was this whole world of music out there just waiting to be listened to. I just felt alive afterwards. They played Title Track too and Ben gave amputatedbob(old member) his sticks. I had just joined here and for some reason when I think of this show, I think of here and everyone that I met through here and such. 8/15/06-San Diego Best concert I've ever been to. Perfect outdoor venue-- literally on a peninsula jutting into the water. I met Jeff and Tia here and this was the first concert that I made a day out of by getting to the line by noon. Jeff got Ben's sticks and we were front row just in front of Ben. This was the show that Tia filmed that Transatlanticism clip that everyone loves on youtube. 12/5/06-UCI Bren Events Center Most disappointing show I've been too. I met Chris afterwards though and he claimed it was the best show they think they've put on in years. Nothing too memorable other than the fact that What Sarah Said was unbelievable this time around despite it being mediocre the past two times live. This message has been edited. 12/02/06- Mesa Amp
First and only Death Cab concert. I couldn't see a god damn thing because there were really tall people (6'5ish girls) in front of me. I wore the infamous "Chris Walla is a hot piece of man" t-shirt. Anywhooo, it was great. I think I only had Plans and Facts and some random songs at that point. I remember them playing the long We Looked Like Giants thing and it was AWESOME. Chris smiled at me during the show, and I'm pretty sure that made my year. Met a lot of cool people, too. |

He smiled at me too. I think he does that alot to people. In general, he greets the crowd with eye contact one on one and whenever he looks at you you just light up with a smile. |

My first Death Cab show was five days later, and I agree with all of that. |

March 20, 2004 The Big Easy Spokane, WA
This was my first show. I had heard some of their stuff from a friend of mine and the concert was great. Ben's vocals were way down in the mix and people kept asking to turn it up, but he said that he didn't want them to stand out. Ben's banter was just great. November 11, 2004 University of Idaho Just another great show. Played all of the right songs. Plus it was dirt cheap because we bought tickets off of stupid people that wanted to go to a party instead. August 6, 2005 Les Schwab Amphitheater, Bend OR Their song choice was probably the best I have ever seen at this concert. It was just before Plans, so we got some of the new stuff as well as all the great old. Ben threw his stick after strumming his guitar with it in the middle of the "We Look Like Giants" jam, and I caught it. Then they closed with Trans and it was just too good. May 28, 2006 Sasquatch The Gorge at George, WA I had to leave my great position in front of the stage because of almost fainting for standing in the same place for 8 hours waiting for the Cab. But when they played, it was another great selection of songs. Prove My Hypothesis was great at the end. No, that video of Plans is not Chris throwing the guitar off the gorge. He threw it hi up into the air and it came down behind the amps, but not off stage and not off of the gorge. And Ben threw his as well and was poking a hole in his amp with it. Great rockstar moments. May 19, 2007 Roseland Theater Portland, OR Ben solo show. Just a great great show. Couches in Alleys was great. All the covers he did were great. Banter at an all time high. In the middle of the pause in "Why You'd want to live here" I yelled out Nathanael West, and Ben said that I had won the contest for literary references. Good times. I've been splicing Ben's inventions. |

Really? You sure? I could have sworn it went right off the back of the stage? I'm kinda hoping it did. |
