Triple J (an aussie radio station) are playing a death cab "mixtape" tomorrow (saturday) at 5pm (Australian eastern standard time). They play "hits, live triple j recordings, side projects, covers, rare tracks and more."
You can listen to it online tomorrow as it gets aired - http://www.abc.net.au/triplej/listen/default.htm - or if you wait a couple of days they'll put it up on their site anyway.

That was pretty cool, I hadn't heard that flaming lips cover before.

Does someone have it who is willing to share?

i recorded it in the end! its kind of a primitive recording unfortunately, straight to cassette. and its a bit of an old cassette too. i will try to sort something out, but if someone else has done something a little more ear friendly, or jjj upload it, definately go for there version(s)! : )

i particualrly enjoyed hearing that live at the wireless segment once again, i forgot how amazing that version of 'blacking out the friction' into deff leppard's 'hysteria' was. stunning. i wish i had recorded that set back in 03, alas. there certainly were a few covers included which was nice. i think i was expecting all the well known album songs and singles.
it would have been nice if they played the interview ben did with richard kingsmill a few years back where they discussed perfectionsism and kevin shields among other things : )
actually, bring back the j-files, give em three to four hours worth!

yeah they did a full set for live at the wirless at ABC Studios, Ultimo, Sydney when they were here supporting something for kate in july 2003. i unfortnately did not record it but [from my hazy memory] here is what they played.

movie script ending/ i was a kaleidoscope/ the new year/ title track / why you'd want to live here/ pictures in an exhibition/ blacking out the friction/ prove my hypotheses
