So I was watching this at work yesterday, but I kept getting interrupted during my first pass. I watched it again this morning and all I can say is "wow". This is by far the most thought-provoking, intense, and darkest of the scenes they've shown. I hesitate to call it a video, because it feels more like a short film more than anything else. Incredible.

i thought it was over done and tried too hard to be complex and artsy. but it was still cool. i liked how the sounds changed when she walked into different rooms

He's tormented by the thought that she commited suicide over the love that he couldn't give her, but she desperately wanted. He doesn't seem to acknowledge her presence even though she's trying everything to get his attention, but nothing is working. Now he's replaying it over and over in his mind and her spirit is trying over and over to get him to see her pain.

Just my interpretation.

Yay Otakuhouse is back. No problem, Directions is making my monday mornings at work enjoyable, I watch before I open up the store. Also I hope you're aware of the comic book convention in seattle this weekend....

The concept for this video was completely opposite to what I was expecting out of it. I'm still confused as to the actual story behind it, cutting is something really intense so that was pretty heavy to watch. It actually succeeded in making me feel sad while watching it which I guess would be a good thing, I think I will like it more if I find out it's more than an antismoking video. There was a reel to reel though. So far these directors are getting an A+ for taking cool things and putting them into videos.

Yeah, I'm not enthused when I have to look for translations to understand a music video for a song written in English. Why couldn't it have been in English? Not pretty enough when written in lipstick?

I'm not saying I didn't like the video, I enjoyed a lot of things about it, I just think it left way too much to the imagination about what was actually going on and I will enjoy it more when I know what the director was trying to portray. Hopefully that's in the dvd.

i like this interpretation. mine is similar, but i don't think she's killed herself yet. i think he's watching her torment herself over the love she longs for from him that he can't give her. and i think he's tormented because he knows the cycle will be repeated until she kills herself, but he doesn't want to leave her because he feels responsible for her pain. so if "love means watching someone die" then, in a way, he does love her, but not in the way that will help either of them. quite tragic.

Sometimes the director wants you to take your own interpretation of his work.

I DESPISE writers/artists/directors who tell you what to think.

James, I think the key to this video, is really taking it for how it makes you feel. And take it from there.

This video works even without knowing what she's writing.

And I don't think it's an anti-smoking video. Remember, he's FRENCH!!

This one just doesn't work for me. But I guess they did the best they could with what they had. They took a song that is VERY specific and they had to make a video that was UNSPECIFIC. Not an easy thing to do. So, I'll give them credit for that much. But it just doesn't work, IMHO. Next.........
