Hey, it's the deathcab board's resident "film snob" and "music snob" having an internet argument about who would be able to kick the other's ass. These indeed are some great artistic minds. I just can't understand why the professional film maker didn't consult some dude (with a profesional record of umpteen thousand posts on the internet) about cleaning her lense? God, she must be stupid. And the criticisms were right, putting "white trash" people in a death cab vid is so not fitting. From now on death cab videos should only feature highly intelligent horn-rimmed 20-somethings with bright-eyes haircuts, preferably enrolled in some fancy american film or music schools. I mean death cab is NOT for white trash. Death cab is for guys on the internet who threaten to bench press each other wearing bikinis. Therein lies a world of difference in cultural and artistic sensibilities, in case anyone was wondering..

well said. For the record, those people in the video look like the people from my family videos and just because they're white, doesn't mean they're trash. I think that was a pretty racist comment. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to get back to bench pressing in a bikini.

I totally agree with you on everything except one thing: Death Cab is for everyone who appreciates good music, including white trash. That might be taking it too far.

I think that the people in Death Cab videos should only be WHITE and rich and have perfect teeth. Like the OC. It doesn't matter what American film school they go to, because not everyone is good enough to get into USC or NYU. Also, the people in the videos should wear clothes only hand made by little Guatemalan people. And they need to be incredibly sarcastic. Very sarcastic. Kinda like me and you.

Welcome to the boards. You need a title and a label. How about "Boards Snob." That way you can come here with your whole 3 posts and start ripping other board members for having senses of humor and teasing one another and not understading any of the dynamics of the internet people. Once you get some "umpteen THOUSAND" posts, you can change your title.

But until then, feel free to post your opinion here. After all, this is only the internet.

I'm really glad this thread hasn't been driven into the slew of crap the rest of the boards has. It's a great refuge from all the twisted conversations that people create out of serious topics.

Hey, for the record I've been on these board's for a while and had more than 3 posts, they switched the hosting of the boards and my long and prestigious record of being sarcastic and ripping on people went the way of the money you spent on film school. Sense of humour, is that what I don't understand about these boards? News flash: "I used to do boxing, I could kick your ass" is not funny, it makes you sound like an idiot, and it deserves to be pointed out. Ditto your pompous critiques of music videos, from your supposed educated perch. You have the right to say whatever you want on the internet, and anyone who reads is has the right to tell you how stupid you sound. You guys can rip into each other all you want, don't begrudge me the same fun just because you think I'm new.

Seriously people, you take this far too seriously. We're all here because we love The Cab and their music. We enjoy discussing their work and their music - and of course people are going to disagree.

If you read the other responses of the board members, it's so easy to tell that James and I are just kidding.

Let's just talk about the videos huh, and enjoy the music! And if that still bothers you, just take otakuhouse's advice and ignore me. Plain and simple.

I thought Otaku house's post was an addendum to my post telling the rest of the world to ignore me! I am not as emotionally invested in these arguments as it might appear, truthfully I just like arguing sometimes, and I just read your posts transpacificism and you left yourself hanging like a pinata. though I apologize cuz I guess it is quite ugly for others to read. No hard feelings, I am a "board snob", in fact I think I'm better than everyone reading this sentence right now (joke). New video is pretty cool, how bout the kid who showed up on film day with "protect your nuts" on his t-shirt? Im willing to bet that if there is any 10 year old in that group who immediately followed the shoot by getting hammered at some bar and taking a girl home, it was him.
