Hey all,
I use Linux, and the Quicktime RTSP format is not supported in my distribution. Can someone who has Quicktime Pro send/post a copy of the Summer Skin video?

Sorry man, as I really can empathize as until recently I was one of the few, the proud, a Mac user living in a world where I can't watch jack on MTV's site. Gratefully that's changing now.

Quicktime streams were the best way we could guarantee that at least PC users and Mac users could at least all watch the videos reliably, and in my opinion Quicktime offers the best streaming tech. And it had to be streams on Atlantic's end for obvious reasons. It's not perfect, and it doesn't satisfy everyone, but for a good deal of time everyone can see these for free on the majority of personal computers.

I don't know enough about Linux but I'm guessing Apple has not ported their native codecs and streaming tech to that OS yet. I can only suggest that somewhere you must have a friend with Windows or OSX to check them out. I know that stings and can be frustrating, and know that if there was an ideal solution for all three we would've gone with it. Like right now I cannot watch Jenny Lewis' video, or even Crooked Teeth online for that matter. We really put care into this.

Windows media is a great buffering tool and real player scares hell out of me on PCs back when it used to install all manner of junk deceptively.

I've never understood why anyone would use Real.
