I was talking about the RABBITS being gay, James, you silly goose. Not me...! Why is it okay for you to bring up my gayness and not me? Constant Brokeback jokes, sheesh, stop singling me out, brotha.

The difference between the effects would be craftsmanship. I guess it would be the difference between lighting a photo on your own or adding effects in photoshop.

To put it in musical perspective, it's equivalent to recording guitar effects as you play them instead of distorting them on pro-tools. Even Walla has commented on keeping the music pure as its recorded rather than change it all up with effects.

SFX have become an art within themselves and I respect all the technicians. Though they will also be the first to tell you that if you can do it in the camera, go for it. I guess it just depends on what you're going for and your budget. Nowadays Avid and Final Cut allow for low-budget effects with the pushing of a few buttons, literally.

If you can't tell the difference and you're under time and budget constrictions, i'd go with the post production. I know what you mean about recording. At the same time he likes laura Veirs and she had a good album but put on one of the most pathetic performances ever. Anyway, maybe the movement of the camera and light sources would have played a part in his decision on how to do this effect, I'm quite sure he's capable of doing it the way you think is better.

It doesn't matter. The video is pretty good. One of the better ones.

Is there a story behind the setting of this video? or will all the deeper details be revealed on the dvd? I'm just wondering as to where it's set and if there's a deeper meaning or why bunnies for instance.

Like I said before, the moment when the first bunny nudges the dead one is really pwerful. If there's one thing I take away from DIRECTIONS, it's this moment.

I'm also curious as to what the motivation was behind this video.
