I've been at SXSW and finishing up the DVD so I've really appreciated James taking the time to continue making topics. Also, I am empathetic to his love of robots. But I'm back.

Anyway, Laurent's video. Discuss.

Interesting. Is it limbo? Are they in hell? Or is he in mourning because she took her life and now she can't move on spiritually without some kind of closure? I liked it.

One of the few that would carry over well on its own on regular tv.

It's definitely the most complex out of all the videos - and I appreciate that it wasn't "on the nose" in regards to the song.

At times I thought the acting was over the top and it felt a little "6th Sense-ish" to me. However, it's a video that I'll have to watch a couple more times to take my own understanding from it.

Before Plans came out I heard that what Sarah said was "love is watching someone die" - I immediately took a much darker interpretation of the song and not the "hospital waiting room" that Ben sings about. I think this video is more akin to what I expected the song to be about (watching each other die every day, DESIRE and LUST for one another, ANGER!)

Then again, I'm half French...

On the mirror she writes "He loves me"
On her hand she writes "A little?"
On the wall she writes "Very Much!"
On his arm (too quick for me to read) I think it's "passionately"
On her leg she carves "With madness"
And she finishes the sentence on the mirror "not at all."

I love this video! It's crazy and fucked up and somehow sexy. THE BEST!

thanks transpacificism for clearing that up.
is she supposed to be dead in the video, or is just ignoring her? I'm thinking she's dead but i'm not sure.

That was amazing. It tugged at a few heart strings. So much so, that I feel I might ruin the videos effect on me if I discussed it much on here. It was beautiful. Oh man... I really loved this one.

So complex too. I feel like I just saw a full movie or something, one of those movies that makes you think. And on the other hand, I could be entirely wrong.

I wasn't too sure what was going on, but I thought that the smoking was supposed to be significant... I thought it was perhaps an addiction that was killing him daily, so in a way, she is watching him die... and the addiction and frustration just keeps repeating itself, like the song rewinded and played over again. I thought that was an intriguing interpretation... if that was indeed the correct one.

Excellent. Right up there with Someday You Will Be Loved. Has everyone else noticed that the first four videos were all live-action and then the next four were animated? I don't know if that's a coincidence or not.

I loved it. I liked how it felt way more like a music video than some of the others did, if that makes any sence.

I also thought the whole 6th-sense thing when i saw it.

Extremely powerful video. A bit different with the non-English words and what seams to be an infinite loop but that is what makes the video so interesting. It had me tearing up a bit even before she started cutting. From the beginning I thought she would cut herself but then I thought that they would not show it because the intensity of it. Guess I should have went with my first thought.

When my best friend died a few months ago it was very hard for me and still is. Every day since her death to this very day I have thought “I hope she knew I loved her” and “If she did know, did she love me back”. So with this video with the girl’s death (if she is actually dead) and the whole questioning love really hit home.
