Great video. I just wish some of the songs weren't so freakin sad. Hey death cab, lighten up a bit, smile, you're makin money, life ain't that bad.

The video was very good. It's tough watching it when you have kids and wonder how they would be in that situation. The most emotional video, in a cheap way though (not that that's a criticism, because if it really happened, then that is what it would be like).

I chose to look at it in a way as children being forced to grow up quickly in our world and how thay can often feel alone and helpless and instead of reaching out can lash out or are simply afraid to. The door represented their own psychological barrier which unlike a wall, can actually be opened but their fear of the unknown prevents them from doing it. The brother tries yet his attempt fails because he is either not understood or can't express himself properly. The fact that the mother's face was blurred could also have been taken as the daughter not being able to relate to the mother or feeling the mother couldn't relate to her.

I didn't want to take the video at face value, and it's not as sad this way either.

A job well done. Great video.

Musicman nice review.

Aaron, the reactions people are having to the video have nothing to do with your participating in the boards. You just did an awesome job. Take the compliments, you deserve them. Smiler

i interpreted it as kind of an ironic thing. the kids are nice to each other when they are young and innocent, sharing a room, teaching each other things. but eventually they're going to grow up and possibly hate each other and be rivals like many syblings are

I have promises to keep and miles to go before i sleep

i disagree with your statement there. my sister and i used to hate each other when we were little and we were constantly fighting and competing against one another... now that we're older we've become much more tolerant of one another and we're really close- the same has happened with a lot of my friends

it just depends on the people. I've never liked my sister. There's a video of her taking a toque off my head when I was like 1 and I would cry and then she'd put it back and do it again. We don't get along and never will.

I was just being self effacing.

I really like reading your interpretations of this. It means a lot to me and I think you're all very insightful and agree with what you've found in it, which I'm still finding myself. Please write more if you'd like.

Interesting that she was teaching her brothers Geography. Countries with their borders, these imaginary lines that somehow protect its citizens from unknown evils, as was the psychological bomb shelter they created around themselves.

I thought this 1 was really well done.

It reminds me of this movie I saw a few years ago but I can't remember what it's about even. But that is besides the point.

I really enjoyed the end of it espeically with the girl talking. I thought that it really added to the song.
