Directions Update
"What Sarah Said," directed by Laurent Briet, is getting phenomenal response. Be sure to stream it if you haven't already, and check back for the next couple of weeks to catch the remaining two videos of the series.

Directions on DVD will be available for purchase in record stores on 4/11. It will feature exclusive content, as well as two videos that were not shown on the Death Cab for Cutie website.

Directions will also be available through iTunes on 3/28

that's pretty big news, I was under the impression that it would be online purchases only. These dvds must be getting pressed really really soon or have already started because that's in 2 weeks. Available through itunes also, I think most people on here will get a dvd.

maybe broken yolk or walking the ghost ? or maybe something else. I sure hope it's a political song that they didn't put on the album.

possibly, or maybe more, I haven't seen any talk of a price point yet. Sometimes music dvds cost like 30 bucks.

I may be totally, completely wrong, but I don't think it will even be twenty bucks. That is not a promise, I just happen to believe that's the case and will let you all know as soon as I can.

The DVD features 'Talking Like Turnstiles' directed by Lance Bangs which is a classic, seriously. Everyone who's seen it has watched in disbelief. It also includes a video by Keith Schofield, who did an amazing Notwist video previously, for the b side Jealousy Rides Again.

The DVD also features:

-Video pieces from each director offering a look into their creative process and intent behind each video (no simple commentary tracks for us).

-All treatments and original artwork and still photos from behind the scenes, along with bios and credits.

-Original audio of the school playing "Different Names", animatic for Crooked Teeth, a director's alternate ending for "Stable Song"

-A never before seen interview with the band done right after the Grammys in which they discuss 'Directions' and what it's meant to them.

The 11 original videos will be available on iTunes Music store some point today, which is great if you want to have them on your iPod, but I also think the DVD is the best representation of this thing as a whole. It's available April 11th, only two more weeks.

15 bucks is a crazy good price for a dvd.

That's kinda fucked that itunes has the last video before the death cab boards. They have a complete monopoly now.

I look forward to purchasing the dvd as everyone else should.

Trust me James, you get a lot more with the DVD that the iTunes release doesn't have.

oh for sure Aaron. I'm not bothering with Itunes, but I'm looking forward to the dvd and the extra stuff on it. Do you think I would be better off pre-ordering? or just waiting to find it in a store.
