That was one thing I didn't like about the video: No Walla. Sure, he was in the "studio" mixing, but we didn't get to peek into his "story." And I know it's just a video but seeing only three people (without Walla) performing the song under the "Death Cab for Cutie" moniker was a little strange.

Otherwise, not my favorite, but definitely one of the better more original ones.

Yeah, definitely just a video. I'm sure Schrab was kicking himself trying to fit a fourth in there somehow.

maybe he tried to capture the idea that walla feels left out because he's also the producer? He said he isn't producing the next album because he wants to know what it feels like to just be a guitarist in a band.

Quite possible Chris is a Martian. We can get a clue by the fact that Ben was attacked on the way to the Mars to visit him. Since Ben's flying disk was totally ruined, sadly, we didn't get to see Chris. But the video was completed by including all the cool stuff:ROBOTS,PIRATES,MONSTER AND MARTIAN

I liked the "head vs Heart" thing, with the alien that looked like a brain and the robot with the blue heart on his chest. It was a cute subtle thing.

This video was extrememly visually entertaining, so I think this one accomplishes the whole point of a music video the best, in my opinion. PLus there were robots and pirates and monsters, to jump on James' excitement banwagon. I really enjoyed the woman cut out, and how it blatently said cut out on the back of her. That was a funny touch. Good video.

Oh wow, I actually missed that. But doesn't that contradict the song, "My head is weak, my heart always speaks"? You know, because the Heart Robot gets blown away by the Brain. =/

shit! i watched this video and i forgot to comment on it. anyways, it was really good. i liked it better than the video with the guys of DCfC in it. the whole thing about "you can't find nothing at all, if there was nothing there all along" was just genius.

Yep, and don't forget Squid and the crab, they were great additions. I loved the idea of each of them fading into their own little fantasies as they're playing the song, with them being the lead in their fantasies... great touch.

just not death cab to me. cool, but yet didn't line up with who they are. just a vibe.
